Termite Control
In the South, it's not a question of if termites will target a structure, it's a question of when.
Every year in the United States, termites cause more damage to structures than fire and earthquakes combined. As a general rule, termites are attracted to wood and moisture while being repelled by light and air. As a result, termites can go undetected by most homeowners until damages occur.
EXPEST will inspect your home at no charge and provide a detailed analysis on termite activity and other wood destroying organisms.

TERMITE LETTERS
EXPEST also offers termite letters for real estate sales. A.K.A.: Clearance letters, listing letters, closing letters, WDO reports, actual name Official Georgia Wood Infestation Inspection Report. These are reports of a visual inspection of a structure performed by a licensed pest control company. The report indicates visible evidence of previous and active infestations on the date of the inspection:
1. Subterranean termites - common in Georgia
2. Powder Post beetles - common in Georgia crawl spaces
3. Wood Boring beetles - common in Georgia crawl spaces
4. Dry Wood Termites - less common, usually found along the GA coast.
5. Wood Decaying Fungus - common in Georgia crawl spaces
Conditions Conducive to infestation and included on the report are:
1. Cellulosic material in a crawl space (scrap wood in the crawl)
2. Inadequate ventilation in a crawl space (proper number of vents and a vapor barrier covering at lease 70% of the soil)
3. Wood in contact with the ground (deck steps, lattice, siding, trimboards touching the ground)
Also any treatments that have been performed and transferrable warranties available to subsequent owners of the property are noted. A diagram of the property indicating the locations of infestation and conducive conditions is included with the report.
Additional Services
Powder Post Beetle and Wood Borer Treatments - Wood infesting beetles that can be controlled through increased ventilation and a moisture barrier and treatments directly to the infested wood. These wood infesting insects are most often found in crawl spaces underneath homes. Expest uses a wood treatment called Timbor to penetrate the wood an eliminate the larvae of the beetle that lives in the wood.
Improved Crawl Space Ventilation (foundation vents and vapor barriers installed)
